Wynn has been turning into such a "kid" lately instead of a baby. Two examples:
- I was taking a bath the other night and Sam was watching her. She hit him (not an uncommon occurrence at this age unfortunately) and he held her hands and said "You do NOT hit daddy and mommy or Toosen (our dog Lucie). Hitting is NOT kind and will not be tolerated." She immediately started to tear up (with me she usually laughs at this discipline although I'm the "mean" one, go figure) and said "Sorry daddy, sorry mommy, sorry Toosen." Then she picked up her little chair, carried it over in front of the front door (where she gets her time outs, although they are not frequent) and sat herself in that little chair, facing the door, and said "NO HIT, sorry"!
- She was eating dinner with us the other night and she hit Sam (are you catching on that this happens every single day??). He sternly told her "NO hitting, it's not kind, OKAY???" while he was shaking his head NO. She looked him dead face in the eye, shook her head, nodding it to say YES, and said "Otay, Daddy, OTAY!" deadpan serious! We both just had to turn our heads and laugh. Otay Buttwheat.
I swear she'll be a teenager before I know it!
It's so hysterical that she gave herself a time-out. Love it! I have a feeling my little girl will be a "hitter" when she gets a bit older; she already smacks me in the face numerous times per day (this is in addition to the daily shoves, hair-pulling and eye-poking). At the moment though, I don't think it's intentional - or at least that's what I tell myself. Haha!
